As time is passing by fast on the island, which I’ve chosen to be my new home for some time, I underwent different situations, I've met different people, I've made different experiences, I've lived in different places and I've felt different feelings. 

From high to low, from laughing to crying, from joy to frustration, from inspiration to bottom – there is so much what made me be stronger and even wiser. 

But the most important thing (which I already knew, but which I am now even more sure about) is, that I can make myself feel at home (almost) everywhere, that it isn’t an apartment, a house or the furniture what makes a home feel like home, no – moreover it is your heart which makes four walls to be your home. Your heart has the key to happiness – so wherever my path took me in the past four months I felt at home.

And the second thing that I am aware of is, that no matter what happens, I am my own best friend. Every place I go, every house I am living in, every chair I am sitting in – I always bring myself as my best friend with me. And so, I go on adventure with myself, I laugh to myself and sometimes I even talk loud to myself. And of course, all the writing, all the journaling which I am doing, are part of how I process everything nowadays. To be able to understand myself better, from day to day, minute to minute, second to second. 

And here I am, in the middle of nowhere, dark a night, filled bright by the moon, some stars are in sight, calming music arouses myself – and writing again from my soul, my inner thoughts which I share today with you dear reader.

Die Zeiten verändern sich schnell, die Zeit verrinnt wie im Fluge, ich verändere mich stets und wachse gleichzeitig. Ich lerne mich selber besser kennen und versuche, dabei immer meinen Werten treu zu bleiben.

Was ist mir wichtig? Das Träumen nicht zu vergessen, die kindlich, spielerische Herangehensweise am Entdecken, am Staunen – die Freiheit ist örtlich mal mehr und dann mal weniger beschränkt, aber mein Geist ist frei – egal wie die äußeren Umstände sein mögen. 

Den Spaß, die Freude am Leben ist allgegenwärtig, wenngleich manchmal Wolken den Sonnenschein trügen – doch am Ende des Tages, weiß ich immer, dass ein neuer Morgen wartet, eine neue Möglichkeit das Leben nach eigenem Willen zu gestalten, denn man ist ja schließlich der Dirigent und Hauptdarsteller der Lebensbühne zugleich. 

Zahlreiche Sonnenaufgänge und -untergänge, viele Voll- und Neumonde habe ich hier auf den Inseln gesehen und bestaunt, all das zum Danke meiner Neugierde, Neues zu entdecken und zu erleben. 

Wie oft habe ich mich in meinem alten Zuhause unglücklich, ohne Inspiration und müde gefühlt? Viel zu oft, als dass ich meine Träume vergessen wollte.

Deshalb: Vergiss nie deine Träume, denn sie sind es, welche die Flamme tief in dir brennen und welche dich am Morgen aufstehen lassen und dich zu Großem antreiben.

Aber lass uns doch zurückkommen zu der Insel La Gomera, welche ich nun seit mehr als vier Monaten bewohne:

Wo ich überall schon gewohnt habe? Wo habe ich mein Herzen nach außen strahlen lassen und mich heimisch gefühlt? Aus welchen vier Wänden habe ich mein temporäres Zuhause kreiert?

So, let’s take a spot to some of the places I’ve made myself feel at home in the past four months since I’m on the beautiful island La Gomera.

Home #1 in Alajerò (you know already from my last blog post -> head over there to read it) 

Home #2 in Valle Gran Rey 

As I had to leave my first home, I booked myself into a hotel hosted at a community right at the stony beach of Valle Gran Rey, as well known as Finca A.

I stayed there for some days to immerse myself into lots of selflove with daily meditation, yoga, healthy vegan/vegetarian food, great views and lovely new friends. 

Die Zeit war sehr angenehm und ich fühlte mich nach dem Aufenthalt wieder mehr ausgeglichen, in meiner Mitte ruhend und fühlte die Lust nach Entdeckungen – also perfekte Zeit, um weiterzuziehen.

Home #3 near Las Rosas 

My third home should be an Airbnb booked by my friend J. from Poland, which was as well a guest at Finca A. We became fast friends and she invited me to be her guest at the forest house, pretty far off the grid.

Ich blieb in dem Haus im Wald in the middle of nowhere für einige Tage, welche mit Ausflüge, viel Lachen und Gespräche sowie Meditationen mit meiner neuen Freundin J. begleitet waren. Aber auch hier sollte ich nicht lange verweilen, denn bald  ging es auf in mein viertes Heim.

Home #4 again in Alajerò

I was looking for a place to stay for some longer period than just some days. So, I found a pretty sweet house in Alajerò, which was the village where I stayed at the beginning of my journey. I was actually looking for something small, maybe with a garden but at least a nice terrace. And what I found was way more than I was searching for. First, I wasn’t sure, if I should take it, as it seemed to be pretty big and with so much outdoor space, but then I thought, “Well, if the universe is delivering my such a great home, why shouldn’t I take it?! And the rent is even decent.”. 

Und da war ich nun, in dem großen und schönen rosa Haus am Ende einer privaten Straße, mit Aussicht aufs Meer, ganz viel Palmen und Kakteen und einer perfekten Dorfstraße, die sehr selten befahren wurde. Der Ort, an dem das Haus stand, erinnerte mich sofort an mein altes Zuhause in Italien: Im Dorf ist ein Geschäft, eine Bar; es ist eine sehr ruhige und wunderschöne Gegend, wo man viel spazieren gehen kann und ein Bus brachte mich runter in den nächst größeren Ort (hier wohlgemerkt auch zum Strand) oder sonst hoch in den Wald (hier ist der „Berg“ nicht so hoch wie in Südtirol).

Doch auch hier sollte ich nicht all zulange verweilen, denn nach knapp zwei Monaten sollte ich ausziehen und ich machte mich erneut auf die Suche nach einer Bleibe. 

Home #5 again in Valle Gran Rey

As the time in my fourth home wasn’t unlimited, I’ve chosen to be again back in a bit more “crowded” area of the island, Valle Gran Rey. But this time, even if I tried my best to feel at home there as well, the noise, the smell, the "many" people and masks were apparently too much for me and I felt again like living in peaceful surroundings. 

Das große Glück, das mich begleitet, ist das leichte Gepäck, mit dem ich auf der Insel unterwegs bin. Umziehen ist im Alltag eine große Angelegenheit, wie viele Kartone werden gepackt, geräumt und ausgepackt...?! Hier bin ich zu meinem großen Glück nur mit einem Koffer und einem Rucksack angekommen und das Umziehen geht somit ratzeputz. Also blieb ich in Valle Gran Rey nicht zu lange und suchte das Ruhige, welches ich wiederfinden sollte.

Home #6 in Macayo

Home sweet home - right from the beginning it felt like home. Luckily, I am still at this place right now. It brings peace, to be able to stay at a place longer than some weeks. It makes some kind of routine possible to gain and to sort myself, to sort my needs and wishes, to achieve some of my goals. The place is filled with people, who come and go, work is be done around the house. 

Hier fühle ich mich richtig angekommen, die Ruhe ist wieder eingekehrt und so kann ich mich auch auf eine Art Routine einstimmen, welche jedoch nicht lange anhält, da jeder Tag anders ist und dann doch wieder gleich. Leute kommen und gehen hier, Arbeiten rund ums Haus begleiten die Zeit.

Und zwischendurch war ich auch noch mit Inselhopping beschäftigt: auf La Palma und Teneriffa war ich schon, und einige der anderen Inseln kommen noch dieses Monat dran… Denn Abenteuerlust habe ich immer… Zum Glück gibt es hier insgesamt 8 Inseln, also wird mir sicherlich nie langweilig werden… und dann sind die Inseln alle auch noch total unterschiedlich…
